A large part of Hantsport's waterfront, near the government wharf, is occupied by a huge storage shed from which the gypsum fleet is loaded with up to 20,000 tons of gypsum per boat. The gypsum is mined at Wentworth, near Windsor, and is shipped by rail to Hantsport for export to all parts of the world.
